Ceist:39 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Finance if a tax rebate will be made to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 12 immediately in view of his poor circumstances at present.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that PAYE balancing statements for the years 1985-86 to 1990-91 were issued by the inspector of taxes to the taxpayer on 23 May 1991 advising him of a refund of £82.75. A cheque in settlement for this amount will issue to him within the next ten days.
The inspector wrote to the taxpayer on the same date advising him of a further refund of £2,900. This refund is in connection with the ex-gratia settlement payment received from his employer. A cheque for this amount will be issued within the next ten days also.
