Vol. 409 No. 1

Written Answers. - Swords (Dublin) Schools.

Nora Owen

Ceist:

145 Mrs. Owen asked the Minister for Education if she will outline the arrangements she is making to allow the Holy Family junior national school, at River Valley, Swords, County Dublin, to take in all children seeking enrolment; and if she will, as a matter of extreme urgency, arrange to have accommodation provided by September 1991.

Local authority planning permission for the proposed four-classroom extension at Holy Family national school, River Valley, County Dublin, has been received and tenders will be invited shortly. It is my intention that the contract be proceeded with on receipt and examination of the tenders.

Ceist:

146 Mrs. Owen asked the Minister for Education when she will give the go-ahead for work to commence on Old Boro School, Swords, County Dublin, which has full planning permission to proceed.

The buildings and site known as the Old Boro national school in Swords have been purchased to facilitate the provision of the proposed new school building for Fingal community college.

The accommodation requirements of Fingal community college have been examined and a schedule of accommodation to be provided is currently under discussion with the County Dublin Vocational Education Committee. When this is agreed with the VEC arrangements will be made to initiate the architectural planning.
