Vol. 409 No. 8

Written Answers. - House Property Revenue.

Frank Crowley

Ceist:

79 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Justice the number of houses sold by his Department in (1) County Cork and (2) the remainder of the country in 1989, 1990 and to date in 1991; and the total amount of money which was raised as a result.

The number of houses vested in the Minister for Justice which were sold in County Cork in 1989, 1990 and in 1991, to date, were one, one and nil respectively. In the same periods the number of such houses which were sold in the rest of the country were six, one and one. The houses were sold through the Office of Public Works and the total amount of money raised was £127,555.

The above figures do not include sales of properties, such as Garda stations, which were not vested in the Minister for Justice. Figures relating to such sales and the figures above for 1989 and 1990 were included in figures given by the Minister for Finance in reply to a parliamentary question on state property sales on 18 April 1991 (columns 514 to 521).
