24 Mr. Pattison asked the Minister for Defence if he has any proposals to standardise the equipment between the Reserve Defence Forces and the Permanent Defence Forces; if so, if he will outline the timescale involved in this proposal; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The standardisation of equipment between the Reserve Defence Forces and the Permanent Defence Forces is proceeding in specific areas in so far as resources allow.
For reasons of economy, however, it is intended that some existing serviceable equipment, no longer used by the Permanent Defence Forces, would continue to be used by the Reserve Defence Forces.
