Vol. 410 No. 6

Written Answers. - Howth House.

Michael Joe Cosgrave

Ceist:

51 Mr. Cosgrave asked the Minister for Finance if, in view of the widespread disquiet regarding Howth House which is of architectural and historical importance and is adjacent to areas of historical and archaeological interest, he will arrange, as a matter of urgency, to carry out an archaeological dig with a view to saving Howth House; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The developers have agreed to employ an archaeologist to carry out an appraisal of the site and to monitor ground disturbance during the course of the development.
