56 Mr. Ryan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food whether, given the deep concern being expressed by growers in the horticultural industry, particularly in the Fingal area of County Dublin, he will agree to set up a sworn public inquiry into the marketing and distribution of Irish fruit and vegetables.
In the course of regular contacts with growers and growers representatives I have not encountered any complaints which would warrant the setting up of a sworn public inquiry into the marketing and distribution of Irish fruit and vegetables. If the Deputy is aware of any irregularities in this area he should bring them to my attention and I will have them investigated.
