Ceist:26 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Justice when he intends introducing legislation to establish a court of civil appeal; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

There is a commitment in the Programme for Government 1989 — 1993 to establish a new civil court of appeal. My Department are preparing proposals for the necessary legislation and the final proposals will be announced in the normal why when they have been considered and approved by Government. I hope to introduce the necessary legislation early next year.
