Vol. 411 No. 5

Written Answers. - Air Pollution Regulations.

Bernard J. Durkan

Ceist:

110 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment the extent to which the smoke emissions from peat briquettes comply with regulations within the Government's air pollution standards; if the peat industry is likely to be further adversely affected by these regulations; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

Peat briquettes have shown compliance with the standards for allowable fuels prescribed by the Air Pollution Act, 1987 (Marketing, Sale and Distribution of Fuels) Regulations, 1990.
