174 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Health when he received the 1990 annual report and accounts from the health boards; and the reason he failed to refer to these bodies in his reply to Parliamentary Question No. 563 of 16 October 1991.
My Department has not yet received the 1990 annual audited accounts and auditors' reports from any of the country's eight health boards.
The question put down by the Deputy to me on 16 October last referred to annual reports only. The health boards are not required by statute to submit an annual report to me or lay one before the Houses of the Oireachtas. They are required, however, to have their audited accounts laid before the Houses of the Oireachtas.
