33 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Education whether bonus points were awarded for PLC courses to those students who applied for certificate and diploma courses in Dublin Institute of Technology Colleges; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
Bonus points in respect of post leaving certificate courses were awarded to a small number of those students who applied for certificate and diploma courses in the Dublin Institute of Technology in 1991. These students were dealt with as new standard applicants and the arrangement is on a pilot project basis.
An analysis of the outcome of the project has just been received in my Department and will be reviewed in the context of the new National Council for Vocational Awards which was launched yesterday.
