Ceist:24 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for the Marine if he will outline his plans for the future development of Fenit port, County Kerry.

The future development of Fenit port is a matter in the first instance for Tralee and Fenit Pier and Harbour Commissioners — the body responsible for the management, control and operation of the port. Any development plans submitted by the commissioners will be given full consideration by my Department in the context of future development programmes.
As the Deputy is aware, last year I approved the award of a State grant of £10,000 to the commissioners towards the cost of dredging at the commercial berths, the pier head and the turning circle at Fenit Harbour. This grant was paid on 19 October 1990.
