119 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Education the number of caretakers in employment in Vocational Education Committee schools throughout County Meath; the names of the schools involved; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
The allocation of caretaker staff to vocational education committees is made on a scheme-wide basis. My Department have sanctioned eight caretakers and one maintenance person for the County Meath Vocational Education Committee scheme. The deployment of such staff is a matter, therefore, for the Vocational Education Committee itself. The Vocational Education Committee have seven schools, i.e. Athboy, Dunshaughlin, Longwood, Navan, Nobber, Oldcastle and Trim.
