It is my intention to introduce legislation to amend the Medical Practitioners Act, 1978 as early as possible in the New Year.
As the Deputy is aware, the Medical Council has already made proposals for the amendment of the Act. I am currently awaiting responses from the various other relevant interests who have recently been invited to submit their proposals for amendments.
