Vol. 413 No. 9

Written Answers. - Land Registry Offices.

Patrick McCartan

Ceist:

186 Mr. McCartan asked the Minister for Justice if he will outline the statutory obligations on his Department to maintain offices of the Land Registry throughout the country; the number of such offices currently maintained as district or county registries; the plans he has to expand the service; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Section 7 of the Registration of Title Act, 1964, provides that there shall be a central office of the Land Registry in the county borough of Dublin and a local office in each country other than Dublin.

There are twenty-five local offices maintained in the State and there are no plans at this time for expansion in this area.
