Minister for Energy
if he will outline (1) the companies to which prospecting licences have been issued in County Mayo, (2) the numbers of such licences issued to these companies, (3) the minerals to which each such licence referred, (4) the townlands involved under each such licence; if he has satisfied himself that to date the conditions attached to each such prospecting licence have been adhered to; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The companies to which prospecting licences have been issued and who have prospecting licences under consideration for renewal in County Mayo and the numbers of such licences are outlined in Schedule 1. The townlands involved are indicated in Schedule 2. The licences refer to the generality of minerals in all cases except prospecting licence areas PL 3305 and PL 3306 which are for minerals other than marble and serpentinous marble.
I am satisfied that the conditions attached to these licences have been and are being observed.
