Ceist:448 Mr. Ferris asked the Minister for Education if grants are available to local communities for adult education/life skills projects; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Written Answers. - Adult Literacy Scheme.
My Department provide funding to vocational education committees under the adult literacy and community education scheme for the provision of courses free of charge or at nominal cost for disadvantaged adults. These may include life skills courses. The courses may be provided under the aegis of vocational education committees or grants may be given by the vocational education committees to other providers of courses.
