174 Proinsias De Rossa asked the Minister for Education if he will give details of the number of replies he received to the notice asking builders interested in receiving invitations to tender for the construction of the proposed community school in Ashbourne to submit their names to him; when he will (a) make a decision on which of these should receive invitations to tender for the construction of the school (b) issue these invitations to tender and (c) award the contract to build this school.

188 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Education when the tender will be awarded for Ashbourne second level school, County Meath.

Twenty seven general building contractors have applied to tender for this project. The applications are currently being assessed and a short-list of those who will be invited to tender will be prepared as soon as possible. Further arrangements for this project will be considered when this short-list is available.
