Ceist:

65 Mr. Garland asked the Minister for the Marine if he intends to construct a small extension on the Roundstone Pier; if he agrees that this work should be carried out now as his Department are at present repairing storm damage and carrying out other essential works; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

My Department are at present restoring part of Roundstone Pier at an estimated cost of £175,000. These works were agreed with Galway County Council, who are contributing 25 per cent of the cost.

I have no plans to construct a pier extension at Roundstone Pier.
