Vol. 415 No. 3

Written Answers. - Tribunal Award.

Brian Cowen

Ceist:

100 Mr. Cowen asked the Minister for Labour if the payments from the relevant statutory funds have been made to a person (details supplied) in County Offaly, who has a claim at the employment appeals tribunal against his employer, because the employer is in liquidation and therefore the person is not in a position to get redress from the employer concerned.

Following a decision from the Employment Appeals Tribunal in his favour, the person concerned was paid a statutory redundancy lump sum entitlement from the Social Insurance Fund on 5 December 1991. The amount of the lump sum paid was based on the tribunal's decision in the case.

The tribunal found that another claim by the person concerned, under the Minimum Notice and Terms of Employment Acts, failed. There is no other entitlement which remains unpaid.
