Vol. 415 No. 9

Written Answers. - Street Trading Convictions.

Tony Gregory

Ceist:

147 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice whether the Garda have been authorised to pass information to the Department of Social Welfare concerning convictions of persons for street trading resulting in the loss of social welfare payments to the persons concerned; if he approves of this practice; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am informed by the Garda authorities that they have not received a request for, nor have they provided, data on persons convicted of street trading offences to the Department of Social Welfare.
