Ceist:169 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Education if he will give details of the number of vacancies for school attendance officers which are still unfilled; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The filling of vacancies for school attendance officers is primarily a matter for the appropriate local authority. My Department's role is limited to that of approving the qualifications of any proposed nominee.
