62 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Education if he will ensure that there is a full complement of teaching staff at Newtown national school, Kilmacthomas, County Waterford, at all times; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The authorised staffing of the school in question is a principal and assistant teacher. The school also has the services of a shared remedial teacher.
At present, the principal teacher is on sick leave and, in accordance with normal procedure, the board of management has appointed a substitute to cover his absence.
