Ceist:100 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance if he intends to introduce any changes in his proposals in relation to benefit in kind which he announced in the budget 1992; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
I propose to take Questions Nos. 38 and 100 together.
I wish to assure the House that the Government's overall budgetary strategy, and policy in regard to taxation, remains as enunciated in the budget.
I will be proceeding in the normal way with the publication of the Revised Estimates for the Public Services which will reflect the expenditure changes announced in the budget, and with the Finance Bill to give permanent statutory effect to the taxation measures in the budget. I expect to publish both documents in the latter half of next month. Similarly, the Social Welfare Bill will be published shortly by my colleague the Minister for Social Welfare, Deputy McCreevy.
Deputies will have ample opportunity during the course of the debates on these legislative provisions to discuss the details of the implementation of the 1992 budget.
