Vol. 417 No. 1
144 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for Justice if he intends to provide funds for the refurbishment of Trim Courthouse, County Meath; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The position is that the very limited funds available for courthouse capital projects this year are sufficient only for the completion of two projects, not including Trim courthouse, where commitments had already been entered into. It is not possible, therefore, to undertake any further financial obligations this year.
Trim courthouse is one of a number of courthouses throughout the country which require renovation. Because of the limited availability of financial resources priorities have to be established between the different premises requiring attention. It is not possible to say at this stage what priority can be given to Trim Courthouse.
