Ceist:181 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Education the number of students who have applied to sit the ordinary level alternative leaving certificate mathematics examination in 1992.

A total of some 2,500 candidates have at this stage applied to sit the leaving certificate examination in mathematics, ordinary level, alternative syllabus, in 1992. Definitive figures of the actual numbers taking the examination at that level will not be available until after the examination has been held.
