Vol. 417 No. 1

Written Answers. - Bovine TB Reactor Compensation.

298 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will outline the correct deductions, levies and compensation applicable in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kildare whose herd had 16 TB reactors; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am informed by the director of ERAD that the statutory deductions made at meat export premises in respect of each bovine animal slaughtered are: (a) veterinary inspection levy — £3.50; (b) bovine diseases levy — £7.90; and (c) CBF levy — £1.50.

The amount of reactor grants due to the person named is £3,680 and the income supplement will be £265 per month for each month of the restriction period.
