Ceist:128 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Finance if his Department will now pay the compensation due to a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim under the Bonet Drainage Scheme in respect of fencing.
Written Answers. - River Drainage Scheme Compensation Claim.
It is the practice of the Commissioners of Public Works to reimburse the reasonable cost of fencing made necessary as a result of scheme works and the landowner in this case was advised to this effect some years ago. However, the commissioners have as yet received no further indication of the land-owner's intention regarding fencing but will arrange for an early discussion with the landowner to clarify matters.
