Vol. 417 No. 5

Written Answers. - Trim Castle (Meath) Project.

John V. Farrelly

Ceist:

130 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Finance if he will outline the plans, if any, the Office of Public Works have to improve St. John's Castle, Trim; when work is due to commence; the amount the improvement works will cost; and whether the work will be completed in time for the designation of Trim, County Meath as a heritage town.

Work is in progress at present on the conservation by the Office of Public Works of the keep of Trim Castle. It is expected that the work, which involves mainly the consolidation of the stone work, will be completed before the end of this year. The work will cost approximately £200,000 to carry out.
