Vol. 417 No. 5

Written Answers. - School Transport Scheme.

Andrew Boylan

Ceist:

180 Mr. Boylan asked the Minister for Education the reason persons (details supplied) in County Cavan must pay for school transport, and if these persons should be entitled to free school transport as they are attending the national school in their catchment area.

The pupils in question live in the Cloonose closed school area and are therefore eligible for free school transport to the school of amalgamation only, which is Ballynarry national school.

They are not entitled to free transport to Mullahoran national school but may avail of fare-paying transport to that school.
