227 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Tourism, Transport and Communications if she has contacted the EC Commission to invite proposals for a campaign in non-member states aimed at promoting Europe as a tourist destination; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The Commission has recently submitted a community action plan for tourism, which includes proposals for the promotion of Europe as a destination for tourists from third countries, for decision by the EC Council of Tourism Ministers later this year.
