372 Mr. Cotter asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will outline the amount of grant aid allocated to each county under the agri-tourism fund during the course of 1991; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
405 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will give details of, (a) the number of applications received in each county under the agri-tourism section, (b) the number approved in each county, (c) the number of applicants who received grants, (d) the number still awaiting grants in 1992, (e) the amount of money available for distribution in 1992 and (f) the number of applicants who have been approved but will not receive grants until 1993 or later.
I propose to take Questions Nos. 372 and 405 together.
The following table indicates on a county basis the up to date position as regards the number of applicants for agri-tourism grants, the number of applications approved and the number of grants paid as well as outlining the amount of grant aid paid in 1991 under the scheme.
While there are no completed projects awaiting grant payment, there are 157 approved projects where work is in progress and the amount of £1.8 million has been allocated to meet grant payments arising under these in 1992. Under the agri-tourism element of the Operational Programme for Rural Development all projects approved must be completed before the end of 1993.
