31 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for the Environment if he has any proposals to tighten up the regulations in relation to dump trucks using roads; if he will clarify whether they are licensed, as an off road vehicle; and if, in view of the fact that they have no secondary steering or braking systems, he will review the present situation.
I have initiated a review of the adequacy of the existing road traffic regulations on the construction, equipment, lighting and use of vehicles registered and licensed as "off road dumpers", taking account of the provisions applicable in other EC countries. When the review is completed, I will consider what amendments, if any, are necessary to the existing regulations.
