Vol. 424 No. 9

Written Answers. - FEOGA Guarantee Fund.

Ivan Yates

Ceist:

121 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the total net transfers paid to this country from EC authorities, arising out of the Common Agricultural Policy, through price supports, direct income aids and FEOGA Grant Aid; the likely level of this total in 1992; and the projected figures for each of the years 1993, 1994 and 1995 under Common Agricultural Policy reform decisions.

The total expenditure financed by the FEOGA Guarantee Fund from Ireland's accession in 1973 to 31 December 1991 amounted to £10,698 million. During the same period FEOGA Guidance receipts amounted to £834 million.

The forecast expenditure in Ireland financed by the FEOGA Guarantee Fund in 1992 is estimated at £1,100 million, while FEOGA Guidance receipts received by my Department are expected to amount to £100 million in 1992.

It is not possible to provide projected figures for transfers from the FEOGA Guidance and Gurantee Funds in respects of future years.
