Ceist:161 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if suckler cow premium payments will be tradeable between farmers from 1993 onwards; and the rules which will apply to such transfers.
I propose to take Questions Nos. 160 and 161 together.
I would refer the Deputy to Council Regulations (EEC) No. 2066/92 and 2069/92 of 30 June 1992 which set out,.inter alia, the conditions under which suckler cow premium and ewe premium quotas will be tradeable. Draft EC Commission rules which will set out more detailed conditions are at present under discussion in the appropriate fora in Brussels.
