Ceist:27 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Finance the steps, if any, the Wildlife Section of his Department are taking to provide suitable habitats for the breeding of game birds and wildlife in general.

To date the National Parks and Wildlife Service of my Department has established 71 Nature Reserves, 7 Refuges for Fauna, 68 Wildfowl Sanctuaries and 5 National Parks. These areas comprised of a wide variety of habitats which are used by a wide variety of wildlife, and some of which may be used by Game Birds for breeding purposes.
My Department does not involve itself in specific captive game bird breeding programmes.
