Vol. 426 No. 1

Written Answers. - Pension Schemes in Semi-State Companies.

Richard Bruton

Ceist:

165 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications whether any of the pension schemes available to workers in the semi-State companies under his control offer different terms to existing employees compared to former employees; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The benefits payable under the various pension schemes operated by the semi-State companies under my aegis are in accordance with the particular rules which apply at the date a person ceases to be a member of a scheme. Any amendments to the schemes which are made subsequent to that date are applied to former members where appropriate.
