211 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education if she has received a submission from the authorities at Scoil Mhuire, Clane, County Kildare requesting a favourable response to earlier requests for provision of a physical education hall at the school; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
My Department recently received a submission from the school authorities in relation to the provision of a physical education hall at this school.
I would refer the Deputy to my reply to Parliamentary Question No. 574 of 10 February 1993. As I have indicated, it is not possible to make funding available at this stage for the provision of PE facilities at this school due to the need to devote the available capital to the provision of essential teaching spaces.
