Jim Higgins

Ceist:

103 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the name of the partnership programme manager appointed to his Department; the names of the special advisers, if any, appointed; the qualifications of the people so appointed; and the remuneration involved in each case.

Dr. Frank Roche has been appointed Partnership Programme Manager in my Department.

Mr. Dick Doyle has been appointed special adviser to the Minister for Commerce and Technology.

Mr. Dave Gordon has been appointed special adviser to the Minister for Labour Affairs.

The remuneration of Mr. Roche and Mr. Doyle is under negotiation while Mr. Gordon is on a salary scale of £17,730 per annum to £21,372 per annum, plus an allowance of £3,709 per annum. Each of those appointed has the qualifications necessary for the proper discharge of the duties of the posts.

104 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the number of people appointed by him to his constituency office; the qualifications of those so appointed; and the remuneration involved in each case.

I have appointed one personal assistant and one personal secretary to my constituency office. The remuneration of the personal assistant and the personal secretary is under negotiation. Each of those appointed has the qualifications necessary for the proper discharge of the duties of the posts.
