107 Mr. Currie asked the Minister for the Environment the proposals, if any, he has to enable Irish seafarers, who are away from their home ports on election day, to exercise the franchise; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The feasibility of special voting arrangements for particular occupational groups is being kept under review in my Department with particular regard to the preservation of essential safeguards in relation to the secrecy and integrity of the ballot.
