108 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for the Environment if he will grant approval for the upgrading of the Irishtown water supply scheme, Irishtown, Claremorris, County Mayo; and if financial assistance will be made available for this purpose.

In December 1992, the Irishtown Group submitted an outline proposal to my Department to develop a private source to augment the public water supply. This proposal is now being examined by Mayo County Council and my Department.
