Ceist:154 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for the Environment if there are any statutes concerning public and press access to Council meetings.
Written Answers. - Access to Council Meetings.
Provisions relating to admission of the press to such meetings are contained in section 15 of the Local Government (Ireland) Act, 1902 and by-laws made under that section. Admission of the general public is not regulated by statute. The law relating to local authority meetings is among the matters which will be reviewed in the context of a forthcoming local government Bill.
