208 Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for the Marine when navigation lights will be provided at the approaches to Bunowen Pier, Ballyconneely, County Galway; the reason for the delay in erecting these lights; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
In April, 1985 grant aid was offered by the Department of the Marine to Galway County Council for the erection of navigational lights at Bunowen Pier. I understand that the council have encountered difficulties regarding the acquisition of a suitable site for the erection of the lights. Until these difficulties are overcome, it will not be possible to erect the lights in question.
