Wexford): The development and financing of waste disposal operations has been a matter for the local authorities concerned. However, under the Programme for a Partnership Government, it is envisaged that the EC Cohesion Fund will finance a programme of investment in environmental infrastructure, including solid waste disposal facilities. I intend to examine suitable proposals from local authorities in that context.
