53 Mr. Currie asked the Taoiseach if in respect of each housing authority area, he will give details of the total number of dwellings, public and private; the number of these which lack a w.c. inside the dwelling, a fixed bath or shower, a wash hand basin, a kitchen sink and hot and cold running water at these points.
The most recently available information is that derived from the 1981 Census of Population. The relevant details from that census, as requested by the Deputy, are set out in the following table. No information was requested in the 1981 Census regarding wash hand basins or kitchen sinks.
Information relating to household characteristics was not sought in the 1986 Census. The relevant information from the 1991 Census is being processed at present.
Private households-dwellings in permanent housing units distinguishing those with no inside toilet, without the use of a fixed bath or shower and without hot and cold water supply classified by whether they are rented from Local Authorities or not in each County and County Borough in 1981.
