57 Mr. Noonan (Limerick East) asked the Taoiseach the policy changes, if any, which underpin the increases or decreases in the subheads in Votes controlled by his Department; and if he will make a statement on whether increased or reduced services will be provided by his Department in 1993.
The Vote of the Department of the Taoiseach in 1993 reflects the transfer of a number of functions to other Departments. These include arts and culture functions (including the National Heritage Council), equality related matters, the area based response to long term unemployment, the county enterprise boards and responsibility for the Temple Bar Project. The functions remaining will operate at the same level as heretofore.
