Ceist:88 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Justice the reason a person (details supplied) has been imprisoned since 1991, in view of the fact that he has not been charged with any crime involving violence.

The individual concerned, who was detained in custody pending the implementation of a deportation order, was released on 19 February last.
The circumstances of this case have been the subject of court decisions, including a decision delivered within the past few days. In the circumstances, I do not propose to comment on the case.
