Vol. 427 No. 6

Written Answers. - Cashel (Tipperary) Sewerage Scheme.

Theresa Ahearn

Ceist:

163 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for the Environment if he will provide funding for piping so that all town sewage from Cashel, County Tipperary can be treated in the sewerage plant instead of flowing through an open stream as it does at present; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Ceist:

164 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for the Environment if he will provide the necessary funding to resolve the sewage situation at the Black Stream, Cashel, County Tipperary; if his attention has been drawn to this situation and its proximity to the Rock of Cashel; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 163 and 164 together.

My Department has requested Cashel Urban District Council to submit additional documentation in relation to the preliminary report for the Cashel Sewerage Scheme, Stage 3. The question of funding does not arise at this stage.
