Ceist:167 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for the Environment the position regarding the sanctioning of phases three and four of the Dundalk inner relief road; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Written Answers. - Dundalk (County Louth) Relief Road.
Approval for Contract No. 1 (fencing) issued in September 1992 and works are now under way. The urban council have received tenders for Contract No. 2 and a submission seeking approval to the acceptance of a tender is expected from them in the near future.
A draft set of Contract Documents relating to Contract No. 3 — Roadworks and Bridgeworks — has been the subject of discussions with my Department and agreement has been reached on amendments. I understand that the Council hope to submit the amended documents for formal approval within the next few weeks.
