Vol. 427 No. 6

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

John O'Donoghue

Ceist:

218 Mr. O'Donoghue asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a sheep headage grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry.

The file for the person named appears to have been mislaid in the post between the Tralee office of the Department and Headage Division in Castlebar in December 1992.

We are endeavouring to deal with the case on the basis of other records relating to this person's ewe flock and I will communicate directly with the Deputy in this matter as soon as possible.

John O'Donoghue

Ceist:

219 Mr. O'Donoghue asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a sheep headage grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry.

A grant under the 1992 sheep headage scheme will be paid shortly to the person named.

Michael Finucane

Ceist:

220 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when headage grants were authorised by the Limerick office of his Department; and when payment will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick.

The applications of the person named for grants under the 1992 beef cow scheme, special beef premium scheme and suckler cow premium scheme were passed for payment by the local livestock office in Limerick on 26 February 1993 and payments will be made shortly.

Michael Finucane

Ceist:

221 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason a person (details supplied) in County Limerick has only been paid a suckler grant for two cows; and if payment for the other three cows involved in the application will be made; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Under the EC Regulations governing the suckler cow premium scheme for small-scale milk producers the person named was deemed to need 16 cows to produce his milk quota of 10,866 gallons. He listed a total of 18 cows on his 1992 suckler cow scheme application and he can be paid grant only on those not deemed necessary to produce his milk quota. He was, therefore, paid grants in respect of two cows.

Michael Finucane

Ceist:

222 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a suckler cow grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick.

Further investigation by my Department is necessary before a decision can be made on whether the person named has satisfactorily complied with all of the conditions of the 1992 suckler cow premium scheme.

Michael Finucane

Ceist:

223 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason for the delay in paying the 1991 beef premium to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The person named applied for grants under the 1991 special beef premium scheme on two animals. One of these did not have a tag number listed on his application and therefore was not paid. A grant was paid on the other animal at the end of December 1992.
