Vol. 427 No. 6

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Noonan

Ceist:

225 Mr. Noonan (Limerick East) asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a farm improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Patrick J. Morley

Ceist:

226 Mr. Morley asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if sheep headage grants for 1990 and 1991 and a beef premium grant for 1991 will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo.

The application of the person named for grants under the 1991 special beef premium scheme has been deemed ineligible as five of the 16 animals listed on her application form were found at inspection to be under nine months of age. All payments due under the 1991 ewe premium and sheep headage schemes have been made to the person named.

However, no payments have been made for 1990 under these two schemes as (i) she did not keep all the ewes for which she had applied for 100 days as required under the ewe premium scheme and (ii) she did not produce an acceptable dipping certificate as required under the sheep headage scheme.

The applicant has not been paid ewe premium for 1992 as she again failed to comply with 100 days' retention requirement. No application was received from the person named under the 1992 sheep headage scheme.
